Jun 20, 2016 8.6/10 Definitely a very important album for hip-hop as a whole. It has some of Dre's best songs on it as well, the chemistry between Snoop and Dre is perfect and they are one of my favorite duo's in rap. There are a few filler tracks on it but f--- With Dre Day, Nuthin But a G Thang, Let Me Ride, and Lil Ghetto Boy are classic tracks. Great songs to play in the car on a nice sunny day. I've always liked The Chronic better than 2001.
Jun 20, 2016 Also, BC, just going through my iTunes and throwing a few recommendations out for albums to do: Joey Badass - Summer Knights Meek Mill - Dreams & Nightmares Nas - The Lost Tapes Rick Ross - God Forgives, I Don't Any solo project by Pusha T
Jun 20, 2016 9/10 A great album that I've always enjoyed. I'm probably overrating it a bit because of its impact, but I still love this album. A lot of the songs have nostalgic value and hold up well today imo. I remember b------s Ain't s--- was the first song I played on the car ride home after the first time I got laid. After that, it was a custom to play the song every time I finished having sex. I actually stuck with the little ritual for a year or so. Good times... On a side note, I'm surprised @Arch Dogg has commented on the album.
Jun 20, 2016 10/10 classic album easily. Top 5 album of all-time for me. It wasn't really a Dre album, more like a Dre & Snoop album, and Snoop was at his absolute peak here. 2001 is a better album as far as production and features, but The Chronic will always be my personal favorite Dre album. Here's my ranking of Dre's albums... 1. Chronic 2001- 10/10- classic 2. The Chronic- 10/10- classic 3. Compton- 2/10- bad
Jun 20, 2016 Forced myself to listen to it several times and it was very painful. The only good song from beginning to end on the album is My Diary. Best verse is Eminem on Medicine Man. I've always said: how weird is it that Compton never had a single? After The Chronic and 2001 had classic singles that still get played to this day? It's because Compton literally didn't have one song good enough to be a single.
Jun 23, 2016 10/10, classic west coast album with a great mix of conscious, fun & shooting a stupid MFer in the face type of music. & the $20 Sack Pyramid is one of the greatest skits on an album lol
Jul 4, 2016 The Chronic is a highly influential classic that's slightly overrated in terms of its overall quality, but its highs and influence more-than make up for the duds. 9/10. You are correct about one thing, and that's that there is no ubiquitous single on Compton like Still Dre or G Thang. At the same time, I think you're just too out of touch with modern day hip-hop for anything on there to click with you -- I mean, you don't think Anderson .Paak or Kendrick Lamar are talented and this album is a great showcasing of both of them.
Jul 4, 2016 Based upon 19 ratings, SXN80 gives The Chronic a 9.2. @RateThisAlbum [7/4/16] French Montana - Wave Gods [2016]
Jul 4, 2016 10/10 I didn't like it much at first, but the more I listened to it, I began to appreciate it more and afterwards I listened to a bunch of FM's albums and mixtapes. The album sounds incredible at night. Coke Wave 2 is still my favorite French and Max B tape though.
Jul 4, 2016 OK this tape is real good but a 10? What makes this a MBDTF or an Only Built 4 Cuban Linx or a Blueprint?
Jul 4, 2016 7.8/10 One of my favorite projects this year. There's about two songs I'm not a fan of though. The production was great and the features were all incredible. From Kanye and Nas on Can't Figure It Out to Quavo's renegade on Groupie Love.
Jul 4, 2016 10/10 Best album of all time. The quintuple lyrical metaphorical entendres are off the charts.
