Jul 27, 2016 Finally joined the user group; can't believe I missed State V. Ridin Dirty is the best UGK album, but Super Tight is the most fun. Can anyone name a rap album that's still menacing but sounds so bright? 9/10
Jul 27, 2016 Nice I don't think I've ever listened to this one before, I got a long-drive ahead so I'm gonna throw this in the iPod and share my thoughts after I give this a couple of spins.
Jul 27, 2016 8.5/10 My 3rd favorite UGK album behind Ridin' Dirty and Dirty Money. Has a upbeat and positive feel to it, kinda the opposite of Ridin Dirty in that sense. Front Back, Feds in town are two of my favorite UGK songs.
Jul 27, 2016 UGK are easily my favourite duo in Rap. The way Bun and p---- worked with each other was just outstanding. Super Tight is probably my second favourite UGK album. The progression between "Too Hard To Swallow" and this was excellent. I feel this album was the first to have that comfortable/confident swagger that made UGK's sound so distinct. 8.5/10
Jul 27, 2016 Pocket full of stones pt.2 is my favorite UGK track of all time. This album was raw as f--- while still being upbeat. 8.5/10 That Mighty Ducks jersey is 10/10 tho
Jul 28, 2016 8.5/10 What I love about this is the energy and charisma that they both bring and how neither one outshines the other. Like on i left it wet there's no way bun can follow p---- til he does. Love the funky lively prod too probably what makes this stand out amongst other ugk projects. Definitely underrated
Jul 29, 2016 8.6 Now that I've had time to sit down with it I absolutely loved it. I swear it made my car feel like it had a bright suede interior and it was sitting on some big-a--- wheels. Anytime I've heard UGK's work it's like taking a peak to the future considering how you can find their musical DNA in rap music all-around. The production is funky as h--- and goes perfectly with the heavy & brash deliveries from Bun & p----. I'd say it's the 2nd best in their catalog just behind Ridin Dirty.
Jul 30, 2016 Super Tight was the first UGK album I listened to in full after hearing "It's Supposed to Bubble." It's also the first album I ever sipped to. Like most people have said, it's a nice contrast to Ridin' Dirty in that it's more upbeat while still maintaining their impeccable chemistry. 8.8/10 Also s--- quality this dad flannel is on point:
Jul 30, 2016 Based upon 8 ratings, SXN80 gives Super Tight an 8.4. @RateThisAlbum what is sxn80's general consensus on Travi$ Scott these days? In a world where @Trippy Skippy finally sees him as a fraud, who knows! [7/30/16] Travi$ Scott - Days Before Rodeo [2014]
Jul 30, 2016 project showed significant growth from Owl Pharoah; still wore his influences on his sleeve but also started to grow into himself, set himself apart a little more. But still it aint perfect. First half (tracks 1-6) has all the strong standout iconic s---. dope f---in tracks, bangers, with shittons of replay value. productions amazing, verses & hooks are goat af, executed nicely. Second half, set aside Grey, felt weaker, def bogged the tape down a bit; tracks don't click as much cause they just aint as special as the ones on the first half, kinda forgettable. all in all i'd say it's a mixed bag. still good tho just not very good or great to me. 6/10. Feel like Rodeo outdid the s--- out of it.
Jul 30, 2016 When I first heard this project it was my first time listening to Travis Scott. It was just after Labor Day in 2014 where I saw Kanye at a festival and Travis came into the crowd during BOTL, so I thought he was dope and I should check out his music. I thought DBR was this real innovating project and I loved it. Then once I realized it's mostly him taking cues, to put it lightly, from other rappers, the project went down a notch in my eyes. Either way, I still really like a majority of DBR. 6.5 rounded up to a 7
Jul 30, 2016 8.5 Honestly I hate that I liked this so much mainly because of how little I respect Travis as an artist, but I honestly can't say there isn't a bad song on this project. Quintana is the best song he's ever released (s/o to T.I with the renegade), Mamacita sounds like it coulda been ripped right off tha tour, and Sloppy toppy is one of the best beats i ever heard. Definitly my favorite Travis project and it isn't close. Been replaying this ever since it dropped. edit: fixed my rating cause i accidently rated it higher than a UGK album smh
