    I like his singing more than his rapping

    I won't go so far as to say he's one of the worst rappers I've ever heard , but I agree that his rapping isn't all that

    If this has nothing to do with how popular the artist was and it's just a matter of who was really good for several years straight...there is no "obvious" choice.

    I have no problem if people think Eminem had the greatest reign, it's just odd that the responses in this thread aren't more varied. It's like the only rappers people know are Eminem and Kanye.

    Rakim, Outkast and many others could easily take this

    No one had as much hype as 50 when he signed with shady and dropped Get rich or die tryin. He sold 10 mil with his debut album. He had some of the biggest records too. His reign didnt last long but he couldnt be touch from 03-05

    Eminem also had good reign. In one year he dropped:
    The Eminem Show,(Diamond certified)
    8 mile ( debut #1 in box office)
    8 mile soundtrack ( Lose Yourself won oscar). He was on top in all platforms. Hard to beat 2002 eminem.
