    @Winter Fuuuuck, I was wondering where I've heard that sample from the intro and boom, second track jumped in, y'all spit over Rakim's "Holy Are You" +1 to respect. Amazing beat. Aight, I'm back to bumping s---. I need to review this compilation.

    Some of my friends and I used to make s-----y rap songs for class projects and stuff and would sometimes make songs when we were hanging out and drinking. I always had a fun time doing that even if we never actually released any of it. Kinda wanna try my hand at beatmaking again.

    The end goal use to be signing to a major label like anyone else. Had a buzz going in 2010-2012 with a nice following, had industry people contacting me. But after networking and getting to know people within I soon began to hate the idea of going big. So I backed off for a while. And of course the internet and world moves on without you. So now I just do it independently and post it online. But I will forever make music.

    Started making music in 2010 because a bunch of kids at our high school started rapping, so me and my buddy, Logan, who I still make music with, decided to make a diss song on all the kids lmao. We did a remix to Lookin’ Boy making fun of kids at school and s---, then started to make more serious songs. They were all over famous beats. I quickly learned I couldn’t rap at all, so I started to learn how to mix/master in some capacity so I could be useful. It’s funny listening back to Logan’s old s--- on datpiff, the mixing was f---ing a--- compared to what it is today because I literally had no idea what I was doing. Then I guess my cousin thought I had more to do with the production than I actually did in reality, so he asked me if I had “one of those controllers with the cool lights that move and s--- to make beats.” I lied my a--- off and said I did just to sound cool lmaooooo. Went home and immediately bought one just so I didn’t look like a liar. Tried to mess around on it for a year and found it overwhelming as f---. Started to really get the hang of it in like December of 2019, and have been putting stuff out 100% produced by me since July.

    There's probably already a thread but its 2021 so I'm going to go ahead and make an new one. This should be a good place to ''Get To Know The CreativeSXN'', talk about the process of making art, showing off work, getting feedback etc. Mostly music focused but all forms of art applicable

    To start -

    What's your name?

    When did you begin making music?

    How long does it usually take you to create a song from start to finish?

    Let's talk about music distribution @CreativeSXN

    Nowadays it's very easy to blow up off non profit music, seeing the rise of soundcloud/bandcamp artists who aren't on streaming isn't a rarity anymore, but of course it's essential if you want to break into the mainstream. How do you guys approach this? Do you exclusively release music on free streaming platforms ie. Soundcloud, Youtube, Bandcamp etc. or do you release it on Spotify/Apple Music as well?

    If so how do you go about doing this? The most common choice nowadays seems to be Distrokid and for good reason, personally it's what I went with and although I haven't gone thru the process of releasing anything with it so far, it seems unbeatable for the price.

    Yes sir, it is, but I was always making it for other people to enjoy it aswell. I'll be probably writing and recording for myself once I'm done releasing stuff. I think I'll drop a few more remixes and that's it, game over.

    Go for it, it's never too late. Since I'm retiring as a rapper I'll be making more beats from now on, so we can finally cook something together one day.

    2 hours for writing and recording, give or take. but what I release can be vastly different than what was originally recorded. I have a track on my upcoming tape called 8 Sided Gucci, which was originally written and recorded in 2016. Made some changes to it in 2018 (new beat, tightened up some lines), and again in 2020 (new beat).

    My unreleased songs, writtens, etc. far outweigh my finished product. A lot of end-product songs are an amalgamation of multiple songs or ideas. self-collaborative process, I guess.

    Started recording songs way back, around 2005. My older brother rapped and seeing him do it growing up made me want to do it too. Recorded pretty prolifically between 2005 and 2015, but I look back on most of that s--- and cringe now. I still write on and off and record sporadically, but it’s been a while and have struggled badly with writers block since 2017 or so. I’d like to get back into it properly at some point, but I used a professional studio and don’t have the means to record at home, so gotta wait for corona to die off before I can record again.

    Oh wow, ya I was 15 in 2005. But I grew up just loving music and with my struggles in my environment I grew up in I related to the culture. Listened to a lot of Big, PAC, and Nas. But when the SSLP dropped in 1999 I heard Rock Bottom off my older step brothers copy of the album and I related to it at a young age. I felt like if he could do it, so could I. Like I said I was writing songs at a young age. I was writing and recording in 2001-2002 around 11-12 years ago as a way of coping with life. But high school is when I started taking it serious.

    @CreativeSXN \\

    I started making music back in 2016, on and off as life goes. My first real project is coming out this year, I think I'm finally at a place where I'm comfortable talking about things in the manner I want to and have a good understanding of what makes for good music.
