This is my very favorite period of Eminem work — his verse on Revelation easily makes a top 10 list of best Eminem verses.

It’s absolutely bananas that — at one time — Em verses as incredible as Words Are Weapons were essentially throwaways for a Funkmaster Flex project.

I appreciate that Shady is expanding these albums for their anniversary but it is crazy disappointing that they can't unearth something genuinely new to fans for each one. Even good quality versions of old leaks would be great.

Bizarre has talked about how the group was more confident with D12 World in that they were vocal about beats they didn't like etc so it makes you wonder if Devil's Night was more of an Eminem project and is that the reason why it was a success, if D12 World sounded more like an Eminem project would it have been received better? I think Devil's Night was a great album and they were very popular in 2001. I know Jeff Bass talked about when they finished up the Marshall Mathers LP he moved straight on to the D12 project. I think it would be interesting for fans to really look at the release dates of all the Shady Records projects as well as Eminem's projects and look at the release dates and remember Eminem used to always talk about how they pushed the deadlines. I don't think a lot of fans realise just how much recording was done in such a short space of time from the Slim Shady LP to The Marshall Mathers LP to Devil's Night to The Eminem Show to Obie Trice's Cheers to 50's Get Rich or Die Tryin' to Encore. You're talking about constant recording sessions with less than a year between many of these projects. I'd love to know just how many songs were recorded but never used and we know that there are many songs on Devil's Night were other members recorded verses but Eminem decided which verses would be used so they must have plenty of unheard material to release. It's just a shame that it seems like as one project is finished, that particular artist waits in line for the next one to release theirs and why couldn't they all just keep recording together? Or maybe they did maybe through the Obie and 50 sessions there was tons of D12 songs recorded and tons more solo Eminem songs recorded, who knows. I think D12 definitely could have had an album out in 2003 and rode that Eminem Show and Cheers and Get Rich or Die Tryin' wave and had the same standard of production and writing. I think by the time 2004 rolled around a lot had changed and I would say the same thing about Obie and 50.

And who knows maybe too much time has passed now to release old music. These anniversaries would be the perfect time to release unheard music from everyone but someone somewhere clearly has said no.And when you think about it, hip hop and rap aren't really genres were those kinds of releases happen. We see it with bands and pop groups and rock artists and a lot of big legacy artists from 40 and 50 and 60 years ago. We rarely ever see rappers releasing B-Sides or demos or alternate takes, different verses, different beats etc. There's no reason why any of these albums couldn't get the lavish box set treatment where it's 3 or 4 CDs and a DVD with a live concert and just really fill them up with rarities and unreleased music.

I know im in the vast minority here but I like a lot of D12 World. Its pales in comparison to Devil's Night (plus, nostalgia probably playing a big part) but cut out the really bad songs and there's a bunch of fun, reckless, over-the-top dumb s---. Em took a step back from being front and center, and the others couldn't really carry the rest of it, but i find it almost as fascinating a listen as Encore. You can hear Em starting to come off the rails but he's still got that natural gifted flow and sound

Also god d--- Em's flow on Git Up >>>>

It would be great and it does raise some questions about the album such as why does Eminem decide if your verse gets used? And when Bizarre talked about the group having more confidence to say no to certain beats and what they did and didn't like then was Devils Night filled with songs that deep down they really weren't that keen on? It just seemed to work, it's a great album.

One thing that struck me with the Lose Yourself Demo in 2014 was how high quality it was, it sounds great. I think it was 2007 Eminem did an interview on the radio where he talked about how they had digitised all his master tapes, it might have been the same one where he said they went through the vaults and couldn't find the master tape for When h--- Freezes Over but they have everything on computers. They know what's there. Maybe they're saving everything for the 25th Anniversaries. I know a lot of songs weren't used back then because they couldn't clear the samples but 20 years has passed and is about to pass for some of these albums, maybe those artists wouldn't mind allowing those samples to be used now. They must have had these conversations and for whatever reason someone has said no to it. It would be easy money for them and I'm sure D12 wouldn't be against making some extra money. It's a shame no interviewer really brings this stuff up because ever since Relapse came out Eminem has been a bit more open about his recording sessions, he doesn't seem to name unreleased songs but he seems open enough to talk about how many songs he records for each album and I think he would be open to answering more questions like that and we can find out what he really thinks.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it but is the Bass Brothers being involved in this album a reason for nothing else being released and the same thing happened with The Slim Shady LP Expanded? We didn't get anything for The Marshall Mathers LP but once we get to Encore's 20th Anniversary and it's more just Eminem and Dre and Luis Resto is that when we could possibly see unreleased stuff get out? They didn't just produce on all these albums, don't they own this music also as Eminem's contract was with them before he signed with Dre? So they would have a say in everything he recorded. It could be they are the ones just saying no and that's why all the extra tracks we have so far are stuff that's been released already in some form or another. Then again Web Entertainment is on every album up until I think Revival so....they might have a say in everything up until 2017. If that is the case then we might get nothing for a long long time.

Then again Jeff Bass co-produced Lose Yourself so......he must have signed off on that in 2014 to allow it to be released. It's just a bit confusing.

Legit, it baffles me. Even if he doenst want to do d12 specifically, werent these guys your friends for like years?

He found time to send pink verses and s--- like that, not even for his own pop gain between mmlp2 and revival, I genuinely dont get why he wouldnt want to jump on a track with swifty/ kuniva or even bizarre, here or there or send a verse their way. So weird.

Post 2014 Kuniva on DN would have been amazing (for those interested: his verses on the D12 DN mixtape (2015) are all great, and A History of Violence Vol. 2 is really good). I'd settle for a recent-ish Em x Kuniva track though.

I was gonna say I feel like I'd heard the lyrics in OP before. Totally forgot about this song but I always liked it because it's not really the type of production they'd normally rap over back then.
