    My dad playing "Rapper's Delight" and "Planet Rock" in the whip when I was a kid. He and my uncle grew up in the Bronx when Hip Hop was forming. My uncle was more into Hip Hop though. He would school me on Pete Rock & CL Smooth, g--- Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, Fugees, etc.

    My introduction to hip-hop was when I was eight years old. My bro was setting up his computer and he put in a CD to listen to that he got from a friend (he was in high school at this stage). First song that came on was:



    I remember getting hyped by the beat and was just blown away.

    So tell me SXN80, what was your first encounter with hip-hop?

    I actually didn't get into music until I was like 13. My first encounter with hip-hop was Outkast, I think

    My dad had this CD with a bunch of classic stuff that he would play on the way to school and long drives. De La Soul, Big Daddy Kane, etc.

    Keys i never tried driving but i have another story when i was like 8 my dad was bringin me to the cinema and he went back inside for a sec and he left the key in so i hopped over to the driver seat and tried driving i jus crashed into a sign like 4 feat infront of the car

    I didnt go to the cinema that day

    i remember this old super mario show, there was rap in intro. and vanilla ice ninja rap in turtles 2. and fresh prince intro. coolios gangstas paradise is probably first rap song i can remember hearing from radio

    Heard various rap songs on the radio as a kid and always liked it. Linkin Park is psuedo-rap and they were the first group I ever got into. Started f---ing with cats like Lupe and Mos Def in Freshman year, and then sophomore year a buddy of mine put me on Kanye, and ever since I've been discovering new artists every week and expanding my musical pallete
