Jul 2, 2021 It was released on July 2, 2011. The start of Kendrick's career, the album that changed everything.
Jul 2, 2021 One of my number one concert regrets is not seeing kendrick during this era. I was going to a festival a couple months after this dropped and he was on right before Big Boi but my friend and I ended up skipping him. I'd heard him buzzin but I hadn't peeped any of his full albums yet. I remember going back to school in the fall and doing my pre-semester music downloading I'd always do and being so bummed I skipped out after I heard this (and then OD and the KLEP).
Jul 2, 2021 I recall him doing a show at Southpaw in Brooklyn for this album. I think it was one of the last shows at Southpaw. It’s been about ten years. I have never been a fan of Kendrick but I do sort of regret not going. One of the last small shows before he blew up. Looking at this flyer, this was a typical, Indie show in NYC back then. YC ended up changing his name to Kemba. Nitty ended up working with Kendrick and supposedly dated him. Meka from 2DopeBoyz used to DJ a lot at these types of shows.
Jul 2, 2021 I was a bit too young to see him during this era but my sister saw him in Amsterdam in 10/11 and said it was insane - she's just a casual kendrick fan too. I managed to see him twice in London (2013, 2017) and he was amazing. O.D and S80 are probably his most played projects by me. KLEP is dope too. Good times man We really need some new Kendrick ffs
Jul 2, 2021 I put a lot of people on this site on to this album back in the day. Can't believe it's been 10 years!
Jul 2, 2021 Even so, Nitty insisted that she got with him for some time. It’s possible Nitty was his side chick.
Jul 3, 2021 I saw Kendrick way after he blow up, think it was ‘16. Great show, someone passed a joint to us & I got faded halfway through King Kunta, I started flying. Remember when we didn’t give a flying f--- about hygiene? Different world.
