i mean, obama was so important for historic and symbolic reasons. but rn, imo, i feel the democrats have learned a few lessons from the obama years, esp in terms of how to deal with GOP opposition. child tax credit alone is a v meaningful achievement.

has biden done anything to rival ACA yet? no. but the jury is still out on all the infrastructure bills. we get even a fraction of the reconiliation plans, thats a huge win.

True but there’s protocols which extended their ability to effectively eradicate the virus from the population more than just mask-wearing. Testing was the main one to track the virus to break the transmission & then self-isolation, which is the opposite of what a lot of the failed response countries did. We were told in early Jan that family clusters were the main spread source at about 70~% - so the Asian countries revised their protocols & stopped in-house grouped isolations, the others didn't.

It just got to a point in the Western countries that the virus was everywhere, we never had a full lockdown anywhere, just social lockdowns or the odd ‘local’ lockdown, but the virus was already flowing through the whole population & regions at all of these points for these protocols to be any form of eradication. This is the problem when your countries are constantly engulfed in culture wars, it stops people from rationally listening to science, everything has an ‘agenda’ lol.

Certainly like his more hands-off foreign policy compared to Obamas "bomb everything" way of going about things.

Domestically, the Rescue Plan is a h--- of an achievment. Jobs Plan is lookin good, ready for them to pass it already, even though it's takin f---in forever.

Things are quieter, its not "oh f--- whats he gonna do" every day.

Not bad only 6 months in. On a better track than we were at any point in 2017-2020.

This is hysterical coming from a guy, who less than 12 months ago, was storm front-esque s--- posting about how the Holocaust was exaggerated, gas chambers weren’t real etc. on countless of alts. Why would I ever engage with you on a substantive matter when you have zero credibility? You do nothing but act in bad faith & leap frog from one populist conspiracy theory to the next. You have no form of higher education in the topics you talk but pretend to have some authority/ability to read/comprehend/interpret research better/more accurately than other academics who actually have the credentials. Why should anyone believe anything you have to say, let alone, believe you over people with far more experience/knowledge?

The difference between you & I is that I understand my lane & limitations of my knowledge. I trust institutions to provide me with factual information about topics that are complex. I don’t make up some boogey man (Jews/big corporations/media/elites whatever dumbshit you spew) as an excuse to dismiss everything that doesn’t fit neatly in my head.
