    I don't think there really was a King of NY in the 2010s. Rocky had it for a bit, Cardi B had it for a bit, Pop unfortunately only had it for a bit. I think it would be Pop if he wasn't killed.

    Whoever has the most presence and authority if you ask me. I felt like Biggie, 50, and Pop fit those descriptions.

    So new question; what defines King of New York? Is it raw talent or is it popularity? I mean, ultimately o guess it's gotta be both combined but does anyone really have that right now? Except Hov?

    I like the thought of Pop being it but surely you've gotta be alive to run s---.

    Let's not worry about what happened before any of us was born.

    I like your list, lots of discussion. Yes, Biggie should be in there over Nas imo but I still think the most debatable is the most recent decade. If love it to be Pop but (and yes, of course some will disagree with this) but I don't really think he "earned" that title until after his death. That shouldn't count. I just don't know who deserves it.

    No one listed here is on the level of either Jay or Nas.

    They are the “kings” of NY, and have a 25-30 year body of genre-defining music to prove it.
