I rather read discussions or short reviews than big reviews by one person. I do read reviews some times (pitchfork, or reviews from metacritic) but I prefer reviews on here where you can actually talk to them. I also feel that in reviews some people act biased even if their writing is great/have good points.

you have long called out people for being "biased" for reading works differently than you do.

Eh, I disagree. I think pretty much any major publication devoted to music (like pitchfork) staffs mostly intelligent writers, but the problem is that, especially with sites like pitchfork who try to get their publications out as quickly as possible, the writers don't have enough time to form a fully realized and comprehensive opinion, so they end up with an imperfect article. That's why I think forums are a better medium, as someone could point out the flaws in the reviews and it could spark and intelligent discussion where both parties come away with altered and more informed opinions.

nah. that's not really the case. there are definitely outlets that try to jump the gun, and they're almost always terrible, but most new album reviews are written in the same amount of time a retrospective review would be.

as for your other point, most critics you read are freelancers.

I tend to just read whatever particular review I come across, nobody specifically. I have a question though. Young Thug's Barter 6 album has been very polarizing on this board. Some people think it's great, others don't think it's great.

So if you have a bunch of rap critics and some of them think it's awesome while others think it's awful. Who are we suppose to believe?
