    Classic US move. Create a mess and leave after 10 years without cleaning it up. "Well if the Afgahns don't wanna fight, we can't do anything about it". As if the US didn't fund militant islamistic groups to fight against the soviets. Well, the Taliban emerged from those islamistic groups later on, so good job Daddy America!

    Correct me if I'm wrong (which I very well might be, I'm not a historian) but wasn't it a bit of a shitshow prior to us going over there 20 years ago?

    I thought Russia was up in there trying to take it over before we even thought about going over there...not that that makes our addition to the mess any less impactful.

    Idk, I was mainly saying my original post because I saw a headline that was like "New Zealand president urges Taliban to maintain human rights during transition of power"...like wtf is New Zealand gonna do if they don't?

    Yeah, in a perfect world it would be that easy the problem is extremists and economical migrants are blending in with these big masses of people. So it's not that easy to take in just people fleeing from war. Also Europe isn't that big and when we are connected with all of those countries it's just not feasible for us to take in everyone. Same goes with providing them with opportunities to get a job and have a stable life here. That's a recipe for a failed integration.
