Aug 16, 2021Definitely. While it's not a deal breaker, a good cover can make me want to listen to an album even more. Like what the f--- is this s---?

What I mean is, does the cover art for projects leave you with an impression? Is it important to you? Does the image help associate the music in your head when you hark back to certain works? Does cover artwork matter?
I’m sure it’s the artist in me speaking, but for me it’s kind of important. It’s like the cover of a book or the poster for a movie. It’s what people see before they get into it. Technically, it has nothing to do with the music and shouldn’t influence the album itself, but I find that a great album with a great, meaningful image on it means a little more to me and makes that image associate itself with the music; forever entwined together in my head.Last edited: Aug 17, 2021Ordinary Joel, Mudkip, D12Shady and 1 other person like this. -

I wish covers got taken more seriously. I feel like a album is art and the cover should be the part of that art.Gimp, Ordinary Joel and CARNIFEX like this. -

An example to me of a great album with a bad cover is Pray for Paris.
A great project with a lackluster, half assed photoshop job on the front of it. Doesn't ruin the music, but it's a good example. The designer who made that and many other covers got ridiculed pretty bad a year or two ago. I think it was because of that horrid Pop Smoke posthumous album cover that 50 Cent commissioned out on IG iirc.Ordinary Joel, D12Shady and Yeez like this. -
