Good luck bro — be careful.

Remember: the bookies always win. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be in business. It might not even be financially at first; you might keep winning money but it’ll be at the cost of your time & mental health.

Set deposit limits because all it takes is one moment of placing a big bet & chasing your losses for you to f--- your ‘system’ up. If you get a taste of winning a larger amount it’s a downward spiral.

For most people, this isn’t a good idea & I’d avoid it. Don’t think you can’t get addicted because everyone can. You shouldn’t bet to win money—it should be for enjoyment—but inevitably your enjoyment will soon be tied to the amount you start winning. And that’s how they get you. It’s a slippery slope.

Consistent gambling basically has no upside.

ive done very well over the years

Some tips

- Betting lines between 1.7-2.0 is my philosophy
- Stay disciplined dont just bet on a game because you are watching & are bored
- Dont bet mainstream leagues unless u get some info I.e players just announced injured. (happened last week & i was on Brentford dc)
- Lower leagues where u get info & can get good prices
- Multipliers are a waste of time
- Dont bet based of XG or data that many people are doing now.
- Doesnt take it to account game state. The data isnt sophisticated enough

Hey guys,

Decided to make a thread to record my sports betting journey and if anyone is interested that would be amazing. I will post here daily updates.

I've been betting on sports for 20 years. Worked as a sports betting live trader for 2 years, sports journalist for 3 years and so on, but never tried to bet "like a pro" so I will try this and see how it goes. I got a good job recently so I can afford to deposit the money that I did and even lose it all. It will not affect me.

Starting Bankroll: 1885$
Value of the bets: around 1.5% - 27.50$
When the bankroll will increase about 50% I will also increase the amount of my 1.5% bets

I do not want to promote gambling by starting this thread, Is very bad when you bet money that you can't afford, been there and suffered a lot because of this but now financially I'm in a good place, I love sports , I'm not doing anything during my shift, I work from home and want to give this a shot.

My short term plan is to stick with this til the end of the year and see how it goes and after that I'll see if it's worth it to keep doing it or not.

Also if some of you are placing bets you can post them here. I will mostly bet on football(soccer) and tennis.

Thank you bro and oh boy, wish I had that option. I would take it in a heart beat.

Also worked as an inplay trader, creating odds for live games and watching all the bets and I've seen some crazy a--- bets from a guy that bet 750k on 1.01 odds to win 7.5k and lost to a guy that bet 3 million euros on Liverpool to win the champions league against Real madrid after they equalize back in 2018 which he lost.

If you're not careful this can ruin or even worse, can end your life. I know some stories where people took their life over 1k-2k losses.

And I mentioned in the initial post, cause I know how dark the days can be when you lose a lot of money gambling especially money that you can not afford to lose, I do not encourage no one to do this, like you said there is no way you can win. You might but you will always go to give it back to where you took it from.

I'm still curious where this will go by the end of the year, never tried to bet like this following a bankroll management but still I'm not expecting to earn a living from this or to be rich. I'm more then aware of all the scenarios here.

You are 1000% right on this one. I had very bad moments with sports betting in the past. Lost so much money, but always by betting money I could not afford to bet. This challenge needs to end up with 50x my starting bankroll to be at least break even lifetime.

But I didn't create this to win my money back or with the dream to win 10k a month. I just do it for enjoyment and for fun like I said in the initial post, I got a great job where I basically don't have anything to do during the shift. I work from home and I wanted to add some excitement to that time.

Have no idea if this will work, the amount I deposit won't affect me if I lose it all and I wont go for another deposit or in no way I will bet more then 1.5% of my bankroll for every bet I make.

But yeah, been betting since I was 13y old so for more than 20 years and every word you said there is more then true.

Seriously bro don’t do it. I’m talking from past experience & I used to win a lot of money from inplay bets — you always end up losing it one way or another.

Pre-match sports betting is nasty; Inplay is nastier; the casino (especially those Fixed Betting Terminals) is a straight up scam. You make more money by not playing them lol.

It’s a system designed for the customer to lose, simple as.
