I cant get into Outkast

    There i said it, my confession.

    So i been tryin to get into Outkast for years but for some reason it has been difficult. As a youngin I bumped their debut and checked their other albums but all of them are like a blur to me, Atliens, Aquemini, Stankonia... I enjoy a lot of songs, their hits ofc, but idk if its becaue their albums are sooo bloated wit songs, skits, features of guys I never heard of or because their crashing crazy flow, but their albums dont hold my attention for long

    Thing is i like experimental s---, and i know they are great rappers wit great lyrics, i also loved Big Bois solo debut so...

    Any suggestion? Which album should I re-try? I am relistenin to Stankonia rn...

    Only listen to their best hits nobody really listens to the albums. Most people just say they are goat and they repost what other say because they are scared that the dustheads attack them.

    try Speakerboxxx if you liked big boi's first solo. Other than that just start from the beginning and go chronologically

    Aquemini
    Southernplayalistic
    Stankonia
    ATLiens
    Speakerboxxx/Love Below

    But the first four you can really shuffle in any order and not be wrong.

    What's some Outkast songs you've heard and do like? You heard this song?

    I usually see Aquemini on the top, but as u said i heard the first 4 are interchangable.

    yes i remember this track btw! and i liked singles like So fresh and so clean, Ms jackson, Players Ball, Int player anthem, Roses, BoB etc And I remember so well playin and singing the title track of Southernplayalistic as a teen lol good times

    Also I heared many Andre3k guest verses and he always steals the spotlight

    I should revisit boomiverse cuz I could never get into it.

    Sir Lucious Leftfoot is a classic tho and Vicious Lies is a solid follow up. h--- even Big Grams is decent lol

    Big Boi is obviously in the top 5 for most underrated artists across all genres

    As for OutKast, I have to agree with Poop Dogg:
    Their highs are great but I've never been able to fall in love with their entire projects (even after trying several times). They were a little before my time, though, so that plays a factor.

    Nah bro they maybe good but timeless? You can clearly listen that these albums are so out of touch and dusty. For old folks these are great because they was alive when they released that s---

    Albums like Aquemini and Stankonia absolutely sound timeless imo. And I wasn’t even really old enough to enjoy any OutKast albums when they dropped until speakerboxxx.

    Idk man have to disagree they are good i don’t deny that. But for an example i think dres 2001 is more of a timeless album. I still go to school and people there still play that s--- front to back without comments that the album is old. When I play other s--- whether its outkast or nas they turn that s--- off

    I’d also consider 2001 timeless. Nas I would not lol. Love Nas but he’s the living embodiment of dust.

    It’s also prob cuz we live in different countries but OutKast is super beloved here—obviously in Atlanta but even when I lived in Seattle. Dudes were ahead of their time.
