Recently rewatched and I still liked it the same. I think a lot of people were maybe looking for something else in a superhero/Batman movie; I thought the noir/thriller direction was a perfect route for the character.
I imagine the sequel will look a lot like the 3rd act.

Give me 1 definable reason why Jim Gordon has to be white. There is nothing in his character that requires him to have a specific race. Baby. -

Almost made this thread. Both trailers have been 10/10. If neither have convinced you on Pattinson, then idk what to tell you.
Never been more sure that a movie is going to be a classic. -

I personally disagree on the too emo take, it's all a matter of opinion but I like that the riddler isn't scary after he takes the mask off he just looks like a Jeffery Dahmer type trying to be tough and I also enjoy that Batman's arc in this movie is about becoming the actual more comic accurate representation of the character.
I think they did a good job not spelling the backstory of everything out and not making this an origin story again cause that s--- is boring now tbh.
Not perfect or without it's faults by any means but I think it's the most pure Batman we've gotten in a while, the whole approach just oozes with the style of a graphic novel.
Sorry for using your comment as an excuse to write an essay I just wanted to get my thoughts out in a place that isn't a vaccum (i.e. my house lol)Mothrfckr, Ordinary Joel, DKC and 2 others like this. -

Kinda wish this was in the film instead of the scene at the end. It would’ve played more naturally than the other scene which felt tacked on as sequel bait.
still not sold on the actor as the villain he plays but it should be interesting -

I was mad at the LOTR trilogy for not using actual hobbits and elves. Was even more disgusted when I found out Michael C Hall who plays Dexter, isn't an actual serial killer. It's like they're pretending to be someone they're not. Kind of like an actor which really bothers me. Imagine if they casted white people to play other races. That would never happenFitzy, asvdawg, Ordinary Joel and 2 others like this. -

Yeah it's just different expectations, I was looking at the marketing of this movie and it's exactly what the director described it being which is what had me excited.
I think the movie seems to be divisive cause of different interpretations of what Batman is supposed to be as a character, obviously there's more overall criticisms of the movie itself structurally or what have you, but I noticed what i said in the discourse a little.Last edited: Apr 25, 2022Chrollo, Ordinary Joel, DKC and 1 other person like this. -

I'm surprised to see that so many people didn't like it here cuz virtually everyone I know irl loved it. Batman fans and casuals alike.
Personally I love a slow burn like this and the mystery kept me intrigued throughout. Most three hour movies could probably be trimmed a bit but I didn't find this one to be particularly egregious in that sense.Mothrfckr, Yeez, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this.
