    The Taliban have never been in the White House... are you confusing the time in 90's when George W. Bush invited them to Texas when he was governor of Texas and before 9/11? Because that was to negotiate a land deal for an oil pipeline... not to train and arm them.

    Ukraine was a functional democratic country prior to Russia’s invasion. This is so vague: what “more danger” is sending them weapons to defend themselves going to do? They’re literally being invaded by a foreign country. Their independence is literally on the line. I just don’t understand what you’re opposed to here…

    look guys, this stance is not some crazy thing I came up with, it is a legitimate debate between the Left in my country. I can understand that the quick reaction is to send weapons to the Ukranians. But it is also very easy from our homes to push this conflict further like that without thinking other consequences. Sending weapons will not end this conflict, it will add more dead bodies, more Ukranians than Russians. I just dont want to add fire to this conflict, Ukraine is suffering and the way to end it is by sitdowns and talks, which eventually will succeed I hope. It is f----- up but Ukraine already lost, even if they pushed back the Russian army and "won" the battle, the country is in shambles, man. Of course the other only real option, is a full blown attack by NATO forces which would get us closer to a WW3. So yeah, that one should be off the table.

    Also if we can keep this debate healthy, it would be nice. I am not answering to that weirdo again.

    Genuine question: do you support military aid at all? Like is there any hypothetical situation where you think supporting a country militarily is warranted? Do you think the U.S. providing military aid to Europe during WWII was a bad decision? No one here wants war or conflict. And yeah, it’d be awesome if we could all hold hands & sing kumbaya all the time but that’s not reality. I’m sorry but this isolationist position of doing nothing is just cowardly & precisely how strongmen like Putin & those before him power grab.

    Ukrainians are fighting for their own independence. No one is forcing them to fight. They are literally asking (begging at this point) for more aid from the U.S. & NATO. And look, some of the support they’re asking for like a no-fly zones arent going to happen unless excruciating circumstances. There’s limitations here, almost everyone here acknowledges that. But to sit there & be like “who cares…they’re gonna lose anyways” especially when this war wasn’t even suppose to last a week is ridiculous. The U.S. was in Afghanistan for 20 years & couldn’t defeat the Taliban. By no means is all hope lost, even if Russia inevitably “wins” but at a very high cost.

    well I do believe it is more coward to just blindly push further a conflict that doesnt affect you personally. It is a very high chance that these weapons only will prolong the war, ending up in more Ukranians killed. I am not saying I dont understand the logic of sending them, I am not 100% sure of anything myself but to blindly support it without question it one bit, to me it's ridiculous.
