Main reason I don't use YouTube for music on my phone is it's built more videos than music (and ofc can't lock phone without it stopping but I'm sure that's a feature on music), always felt a bit clunky but I'm def willing to give it a shot what's the subscription cost?

Youtube Premium eliminates this problem with allowing you to listen to anything with the screen off & also offline. You can also synchronise offline songs onto your Spotify library.
