May 14, 2022 So he took some college econ classes and talked to the homies about elastic products and s--- and wanted to be a big businessman (then got easily conned out of money by the mayor and wanted to assassinate him for it). When I was young on my first watch I was like whoah this guy is so smart
May 15, 2022 That's the way I felt when I watched it when it first aired in 2002. I never idolized Stringer... felt like he was like the 7th most important character. When he pushes his glasses up in front of McNulty in the courtroom... it's posturing... not really imposing or intimidating. If you understand this... you can defeat anyone who is worth a dime but thinks he is a dollar.
May 15, 2022 Character development was never really that good in The Wire, lot of plots and things that don’t really make sense. Why the show is great for me, was the politics, direction, the harsh reality of life, g--- culture etc. Also the writing was top tier. Was never too fussed on the character arcs as it was all a bit too dramary when they focused on that but everything else about the show is pretty much goated.
