I've just upgraded to the Pixel 6 Pro. I've always loved the Pixel series but coming from the Pixel 5 I've learned that I prefer the slightly smaller size.

Was just checking out the specs of the iPhone 14 for s----s and giggles and I'm impressed.
Base iPhone 14 is just that, base.
iPhone 14 Pro is the suped up version. And this is where I find it gets interesting...
iPhone 14 Pro Max has exactly the same specs as the Pro, just bigger.

Normally, bigger = better. And that's certainly the case with the Pixel 6 series.

Anyway, I'm ranting. What phone have you got? Do you like it and what would your ideal phone be?

iPhone XS Max, still going strong. Thinking of either replacing the battery at Apple for £69 or upgrading to the 13/14 Pro Max. Probably end up just replacing the battery & riding this out till it slows down/breaks.

I still get excited about upgrading my phone but not as much as I used to. I can certainly see the benefit of keeping the same.phone for longer now.

2 very different operating systems. Both have pros and cons compared to each other so ultimately it's about how it fits with your lifestyle.

And the ecosystem around it I guess. I know a lot of iPhone owners who have Apple watch, iPad, MacBook etc so even if they wanted to move to Android they couldn't.

Used to love Samsung but I found they deteriorate so quickly and the amount of bloatware on them is embarrassing.

I had a lot of android phones before. People so oh you can do s--- without jailbreaking it. Dude who cares i want to have a nice phone i only use whatsapp and youtube anyway i dont want to f---ing play gta on my phone. You are right with the ecosystem its really nice. I got my air pods and apple watch and use the apple music app everything is connected fast. The problem i have with android the most is the phones don’t look that good or they look like iphones. When i go to my local hookah bar and i put my iphone on the table its more impressive than a android that slips outta my pocket and the battery is falling off looking like a goofy a---

Yeah I used to have a hobby of trying new phones out, rooting them etc. but the fad eventually faded & now I just seek the easiest outcome.

Apple longevity seems to be stronger than ever with constant updates for around 4 year cycles at minimum mostly because their processors are so much ahead of what’s needed at the release dates. So even if your battery goes, a quick replacement should bring it back to competing with the best of mid-range android phones 2/3 years later. It also makes buying a previous generation one very reasonable from price to future proofing.

I mean, Androids in general aren't that bad. But I get what you're saying to an extent. There's 1000's of different types for all types of budgets whereas there's only a few variants of iPhones. Top end ones are good, the others nope. And yeah, it's pretty annoying that all top end phones look the same now as well. Guess that's just proof that the hardware has been pretty much mastered for the target consumer and it's just all about the software.

Ditto. Honestly, my next phone might just be an iPhone. I've had my new phone for a few days now and I have no desire to customise my home screen like I did with previous phones. The straight out the box mentality of the iPhone is looking quite attractive right now.

I had Androids all my life and they all s----d. I just don't want to switch my whole technological profile to Apple, because these b------s make everything exclusive so you'll have to buy 10 million other Apple pieces just to perform the simplest tasks.

What sorta things are you referring to? Because Apple’s walled garden has opened up a decent amount in the last few years.

I have the iPhone SE second generation. the battery strength isn't good, and after you've had it for a while it gets even worse. that being said, i like this phone and i think it's a good deal when you consider how much apple charges for it

I'm that person that keeps their phone for a long, long time before upgrading. i had my last phone (the I-phone 5s) for a whopping 7 years.

my ideal phone would be the iphone 14 pro or pro max. but i probably won't buy it because as i said i normally keep my phones for a long time and i'm not looking forward to paying 1 thousand some bucks for it

Just got a Pixel 6a. I like that the screen is 6"1 and a little more compact than a lot of these phones on the market today. The camera quality looks great. Battery seems to be draining a little fast but i've seen worse. They say you gotta give it a week.

Also comes equipped with the same tensor chip the pixel 6 and 6 pro use which is pretty impressive at this price point. The phone is made of plastic but you can't even tell. Most glass looking plastic i've ever seen lol.

All in all great phone so far for it's price range. Got it on sale too.
