Pretty much everyone in this thread is accurate. Anyone who gets to a certain level of fame and is popping enough will inevitably be overrated. There will always be people that over hate and overrate. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

The most historically overrated people mentioned in this thread are definitely Michael Jackson and Eminem (Kendrick Lamar could be in this group too I guess). Stans of these artists go to a whole new level of d-ck sucking never seen before. They act like these artists are gods and can do no wrong ever. They act like these artists make the best music ever and nobody could ever top it.

On the other hand, anyone who is “underground” and/or “on the come up” and/or just went underground to mainstream has massive potential to be insanely overrated. Playboi Carti and his Opium artists (Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, etc.), Yeat, NBA Youngboy, Autumn, Summrs, etc. are some that come to mind. Same thing with the so-called “lyrical” and/or “conscious” rappers. Don’t even get me started on these cringey a--- YouTube rappers.

Any K Pop group gets overrated. Any of Taylor Swift’s offspring (Olivia Rodrigo, Gracie Abrams, Lorde, Phoebe Bridgers, Sabrina Carpenter, Lana del Rey, etc.) are also massively overrated most of the time by white girls. “Classic Rock” bands are super overrated by old white people. Same with “classic hip hop” artists, old heads will ride d-ck upside down with their broken hips for their favorite rapper and miss “real rap” more than they miss their kids that they neglected.

Now before fans of these artists come try to s--- me off, don’t get me wrong, I like almost all of the artists I mentioned here in this post. I can also recognize that a lot of them make music that isn’t all that great but it gets hyped up anyway. The truth is most artists make music that could be called mediocre or good, but not a lot of artists make music that could be called great or amazing.
