This. I also think it's ridiculous two people who love each other can not share their union with others in their lives because of their gender & sexual preferences but a woman marrying a man for money is okay because they are of opposite genders.Alpha, CODEiNE DEMON, Ordinary Joel and 3 others like this. -

And are mental illnesses automatically bad? Technically transexuals have gender dysphoria, which is a mental illness, but it's not really hurting anyone is it? The stigma against mental illnesses in general just needs to stop.
And we're not fighting for dudes to be able to f--- each other in the a--- (you don't have to be married to do that ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), we're fighting for people to have equal rights.CODEiNE DEMON, asvdawg, Ordinary Joel and 2 others like this. -

going to pretend this is all serious, even tho this most likely me just feeding the troll
because heterosexuals have no ownership of it? and there's no logically sound reason to exclude gays from it?
marriage has been "intended" to be lots of things throughout the history of it's existence, and what it hasn't been is the same thing for any extended period of time. the definition/intended purpose of marriage and marriage like concepts have altered over the years and through the different societies so many times it's unreal.
this is just dumb. acting like fighting to be equal is just whining over nothing.
maybe because basic civil rights in our society is an important thing to some people.
well your opinion is factually wrong, so it's irrelevant
it can't confuse kids unless you let it through your own bad parenting
because it is? it's not some horrific aberration, and science has shown this
there's no injustice being done to anyone by gays being gay or getting gay married lol. so the only thing wrong here is you
and as for your god and what he intends...
a) your god isn't real, so what he "intends" is irrelevant
b) even if he was real, what's supposedly said about it is subject to a fair amount of debate considering it's in a book that was written by primitive men over 2000 years ago and years and years after the fact from stories that had been passed down and no doubt changed (as stories always are when passed down). couple that with the endless contradictions, omissions, mistranslations, and influence of society and the church through the times as well as the dumb misconceptions people have about a s--- load of stuff in the bible, and none of what's said on the subject is really worth anything at all.
c) and even then, if it somehow was, this is still the US, and the constitution and separation of church and state is still a thing. so if by some magic your impossibly wrong religious beliefs were true (and they aren't) they have absolutely no place influencing a single bit of our laws or determining peoples rights no matter what. also whether you support it or not, i hope you're at least smart enough to realize it's already too late for you or anyone else to do anything about it because gay marriage WILL be legal nationwide here soon and that WILL be that.
there's not some rising number of gay people like straights are being converted or some horseshit like that. no, what we are is more visible now than ever, and that's simply because as our society grows the f--- up and realizes there's nothing wrong with gay people, we've become a more inclusive people and more accepting. so gay people aren't afraid to be who they are and are more open now instead of hiding it
it's not being promoted lol. paying attention to an import civil rights issue and being inclusive in the everyday facets of our life is in no way promoting anything but equality
I really hope you're trolling, because if not you're seriously one dumb MFer. Like holy s---, what a f---ing r-----. no one just becomes gay, you either are or you aren't. it's as simple as that. sexuality simply doesn't work in the way you're implying here.
i could confirm no such bs. grew up with nothing but heterosexual examples of love and life all around me and turned out extremely gay anyways and I was ALWAYS gay. Whether or not I knew it or would admit it to myself or even knew what gay was at any given time never changes that. Nothing influenced me or anyone else to be gay you stupid f---rapmusik, VMO2, SirNick92 and 1 other person like this. -

@JMG Straight people, myself included, support gay marriage because happiness is a basic human right. Your "opinion" of homosexuality being a mental illness is not an opinion; its a fallacy. In fact, in 1973, the APA determined that homosexuality was not a mental disorder. The notion that gay people can confuse and influence children is ludicrous. The prevalence of openly gay individuals today is purely a sign of the times we live in. Homosexuality is somewhat acceptable, and for the most part, you don't have to worry about being beat up, denied a job, etc. because you think Steven is more attractive then Stephanie. By your logic, straight behavior in adults should influence and teach children, who would then become straight adults themselves. Seeing as how this is not the case, your argument is simply not true. You can influence a child to be gay about as much as you can influence a tree to spread wings and fly. And regarding God and the bible..what about all the other "sins" that we disregard today because the times have changed? It's funny how people will quote the bible to oppress gays, but completely disregard the other teachings that don't fit in with our daily lives.
