    Kanye turns 46 this year
    Nicki Minaj turns 41
    Future turns 40
    Kid Cudi turned 39
    J Cole turned 38
    Drake turns 37
    Kendrick Lamar turns 36
    Meek Mill turns 36
    A$AP Rocky turns 35
    Big Sean turned 35
    NAV turns 34
    Young Thug turns 32
    Travis Scott turns 32
    Tyler, The Creator turned 32
    Offset turns 32
    Babyface Ray turned 32
    DaBaby turns 32
    Moneybagg Yo turns 32
    Quavo turned 32
    Lil Durk turns 31
    21 Savage turns 31
    Gunna turns 30
    Lil Baby turns 29
    Bladee turned 29
    Lil Uzi turns 28
    Chief Keef turns 28

Some of these aren’t as much of a surprise (IE: big Sean & meek who are all past their prime and have been around)

but to think guys like 21, Durk, Baby, Gunna, Babyface Ray who are still talked about as what’s NOW and generally have very immature subject matters are all pushing 30s is crazy

Future the active misogynistic king turns 40 years old…..

Is rap just going to die soon? We haven’t seen a renaissance like 2016 since. “Underground” names pop up but haven’t made any real mainstream noise or shown staying power

Is all we have to look forward to Ice Spice and Yeat for the next decade?

There are good young rappers out nowadays. I think rap is gonna be fine. The s-----y ones are usually the popular ones, but there's always good and great ones sprinkled through every era. That said, I'ma always listen to the old mf's

There are underground rappers getting more hype and starting a new wave like the opium boys but if you refer to those rappidy rap underground guys then no they are nothing special. Its not good enough to just rap good and sound like a 90s rapper

I think it’s a shift in the culture. They used to say rap is a young man’s game, but that’s clearly changing. Most rappers who blow up in their teens/early 20s these days fall off pretty quickly it seems. It doesn’t help that a lot of younger artists are chasing TikTok hits now

Seeing this list makes me realize that most of these rappers didn't mature past their early 20s. Being a walking impulse decision like Lil Uzi at almost 30 can't be a good thing lmao.

I think we as consumers also age with the music we enjoy…the older we are the harder it is to appreciate artists that are in their early 20s…turning 32…appreciate the older guys that were in the 80s, 90s but I can’t get into these young dudes as much…

    but I’m sure if I was a teenager I would….

Lots of hits on that list…I think you really have to be a hip hop head to be into the new music as you get older…tell someone in their 40s or 50s to compare Eminem, jay z, dr Dre, Rakim, big daddy Kane, snoop, nas, Andre 3000, etc,.. to the current group of artists in their 20s lol

Hip hop is a young mans game. People in their 40s and 50s are washed they dont know whats hot right now because they are stuck in their thang and completely out of touch to keep up. The next wave of young rappers cant get to the next level because its too much competition because of all the s--- that is coming out at the same time.

We are on a quiet phase right after the peak of hip hop at world level, when i said quiet phase i mean the last 2-3 years. 2010s was the peak of rap, years like 2018 filled of amazing projects. I think is just a matter of time to young rappers to explode.
I also think that maybe is good for rap lose some audience today to gain some creativity again, sometimes i think we are stuck in a phase were all songs sound the same (for example generic trap beats). Thats one of the reasons that genres like rock are not popular anymore, people got tired of the same generic songs.

I'm not worried about the Lil Uzis or Lil Babies pushing 30 cause they remind me of an era of rap that I hate. The one that started with Future and mumble company.

Basically 90% of the rappers that were dominating the mainstream hiphop music space from around 2013 and for the better part of that decade can retire as far as i'm concerned.

Rap is actually in a better place now. You got actual rappers dropping projects. it's nice to not get ear r---d by the same generic trap beat and indecipherable autotune delivery every time you want to try a new song.

Nah fr tho even if you dont like mumble rap you gotta admit that it was f---ing big and has a lot of fans. my point is what is the next big thing tho because right now there is not a lot of fresh blood that push the genre

If you look at the history. New movements usually happen in waves.

In the 90s you had G-Funk and Westcoast rap. 2000s you had R&B rap, Trap and autotune. 2010s you had mumble rap. And in between those big waves there's usually a few years where it's more quiet. I think that's where we are right now.

Next big thing probably coming. Although we might reach a point eventually where we done experimenting with everything. And recycling old genres is the cool thing. Like in Rock and Metal

As Marshall Bruce Mathers the 3rd once said. You start with a blank canvas. But once you painted all over that b---- there's just not many more places you can go.

I could remember the phase of rock were everybody had a band. The new bands always had the guy with the same voice, the same guy on the bat, the generic guitar solo. The same topics. They were uninspired and killed the genre.
Maybe we are in the same spot of hip hop right now. The new guys with the same generic trap beat talking about the same things and doing the same music video on youtube with the same tattoos.
