I dont usually post threads but im making this one just to clarify some doubts that I have. Maybe some of you know that im not english nor american. im from portugal. ive been learning english mostly by watching movies, dictionary, music, etc etc. although I understand english I find that the american accent could be difficult to understand at a first listen especially if its really fast.

I have to replay a song many times to be able to understand it fully and some times I even have to watch the lyrics.

Do you people have to watch the lyrics sometimes too to understand some words? Especially smth like "You assuming Im a human, what I gotta do to get it through to you .................."
Can you understand it at first?
