May 31, 2015 I dont usually post threads but im making this one just to clarify some doubts that I have. Maybe some of you know that im not english nor american. im from portugal. ive been learning english mostly by watching movies, dictionary, music, etc etc. although I understand english I find that the american accent could be difficult to understand at a first listen especially if its really fast. I have to replay a song many times to be able to understand it fully and some times I even have to watch the lyrics. Do you people have to watch the lyrics sometimes too to understand some words? Especially smth like "You assuming Im a human, what I gotta do to get it through to you .................." Can you understand it at first? Sorry if this is not completely Eminem related..
May 31, 2015 I feel like a dumb person when I first listen smth like" In a habit of grabbing the mic and babble......." I almost didnt understand a word of that at first
May 31, 2015 Hi mate, i think he says: "What I gotta do to get it through to you, I'm actually Cuban" Thanks.
May 31, 2015 I understand it now. thanks. I was just saying that when I first listen something that fast its hard to catch everything
May 31, 2015 Yeah, with english not being my first language sometimes i have to do that, only with rap tho. With other genres it's easier for me to understand the lyrics
May 31, 2015 I always listen to the song/album first then read the lyrics afterwards whilst listening to the song/album again. I always miss stuff the first time around.
May 31, 2015 not really, well if its a track like speedom i found it hard to understand but Im pretty sure even the americans has a hard time to understand those kind of tracks at first. I think the american accent is the easiest to understand of all the english speaking countries if it was a song with a british accent it would be way harder and I probably wouldn't even like it lol
May 31, 2015 No I just replay it over and over because I'm an obsessed Stan. I wish I could use the foreigner excuse
