Jan 11, 2024 I don’t believe people actually sell their souls to the devil, but they do in a metaphorical sense. They do things they wouldn’t normally do, sometimes even compromise their morals, sign their creative freedom away, etc. for the fame and money. Humans haven’t evolved to be “famous”, it’s not natural and too much for the brain to grasp. People think that money and fame solve all your problems when in reality it often magnifies whatever problems were there. Your brain being overloaded with fame while your problems get magnified can turn you into a shell of who you once were, and I think that happens to a lot of famous people. Or in the case of Ariana, they get fame from a young age and instead of truly finding themselves, they base their entire identities off of whatever comes from the f----- up fame they have. This doesn’t apply to all famous people though and this type of thing can also apply to other industries besides the music industry and Hollywood.

Jan 12, 2024 I quite like the song, especially on repeat listens. I think it’s going to be a grower for a lot of people. I expected a more explosive chorus though. That combined with the dance/house type beat detracts from it feeling like an immediate hit and there’s a ton of people who will never like this song. It is a bit of a letdown for a lead single and even though I like it I do also feel that it’s kinda mid. A bunch of pop seems to be going in this dance/house direction which I don’t mind
Jan 12, 2024 This really reminds me of 90's Madonna, especially the verses... like a modern version of what her up tempo songs sounded like then... Not bad but not great, so yeah I'd agree with "mid"... might grow on me after a few more listens though...
