Jul 3, 2024 Hello to all at Section Eighty (I remember when @Koolo thought this was going to be a Kendrick Lamar forum lmfao. Now it’s still just an Eminem Thread Forum like it always has been.) I digress. For those that don’t know, some call me a legend around these parts. Been around since Rap Basement, used to be a mod until @JMG blamed me for abusing the Twitter account and posting about MAGA and cream pies. That’s a story for another time. I used to be very active on this forum, top commentator every month, mod status, etc. Unfortunately the new crowd that was ushered in around MBDTF A and B was even too weird and rude for my tastes. Felt like I was talking to school shooter types for the most part. Lots of hate and creepy s--- I didn’t want to be a part of and still don’t. For those that care, life has been good. This feels like a good time to pop in and enjoy (or not) the new album before I leave for another four years. Also for the those that don’t know, I have controversial opinions of Eminem’s music (as I’ve been told). Most call me a troll, but that is just not true. I have plenty of people on SXN80 that I have talked to personally that know this isn’t a character I’m playing (that’s just f---ing weird. Playing a character for 20 years since 2004? Not even I am that dedicated or r-----ed.) @DKC @Ricky @JMG @M Solo @bobby Creekwater can all attest to this. Also, if you are so inclined, please feel free to look back 15 years of my post history since 2011 StudioLeaks if it’s still accessible. h--- even Rap Basement if you can. History doesn’t lie or troll, gentlemen. Eminem is one of my favorites artists, obviously. I’m in my 30’s. Old enough to have been around and listened to the overrated SSLP when it dropped. At the time is was magnificent. Hasn’t aged well, but once again that’s something you can ask me about on this thread. Feel free to treat this as an AMA if you want. So I have seen, heard, and experienced it all with Eminem through the decades. We all like Eminem for different reason. I prefer a certain style of his. To give you more context, I believe his best era was 2011-2017. Again, feel free to ask me about it if you are interested. For even more context, here is how I rank his albums. Best to worst: Revival MMLP2 Relapse Recovery Encore Kamikaze MTBMB MMLP TES SSLP I will be doing this review RAW (check the Tech N9ne feature on that track it’s dope) aka bareback aka no condom, aka not reading any opinions on it when it drops. I’ll miss the Live Discussion Thread unfortunately. For my ears only. Can’t be swayed. I’ll do it as soon as I can when it drops. Might be over a couple days, who knows. I’m doing my best to approach this with no bias towards the album. I could see this album going either way honestly. Looking forward to sharing the experience with all of you. Let’s get the discussion going, and thanks for listening.

Jul 4, 2024 Joeyp was probably the worst poster to ever attend the JMG School of Posting Arts. He flunked every test and I was constantly getting complaints about his hygiene. He finally dropped out and of course is living with his grandmother and her cats. Now he's back hoping A.I can make him a decent poster but unfortunately it's clear he is still a failure and proof how important it is to stay in school.
Jul 4, 2024 Some truth in this and some cap in this as Gen Z would say. Yes, I did flunk JMG’s courses multiple times. However, there are some things you can’t learn from school. Street smarts is one of them, and I can say JMG is clueless when it comes to the art of street posting. Many of the greats in our society; Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Obama, Alex Jones, Trump, Bezos, and Rosa Parks all dropped out of high school, but went on to achieve greatness. my grandmother is dead and I’m allergic to cats, so I’m not sure where JMG got those ideas? Must’ve been the bath salts (he is from Florida after all). Lastly, as much as it hurts to admit, yes I used to have Body Odor, but that was almost a decade ago. @DKC bought me some deodorant for winning the best Kanye album bracket challenge in 2016. It’s all been uphill from there.
Jul 4, 2024 cheahcheahcheahcheahchaehcehahcehahcheah Love you too man. Appreciate all you’ve done for this forum. I’m really into pop music as well so I tend to gravitate towards those songs more. I don’t care for the early and current monotone Em. I love fast rappers with good cadence and flow. Em is top 3 in that category. I don’t just listen to rap music. I have a huge love for rock and oldies. I’ve been a fan of Rick Rubin since he was helping produce for Rage Against The Machine. The man worked with Beastie Boys Run DMC LL cool J Johnny Cash Metallica The list goes on…. I never understood the hate for the Em and Rubin collabs. I thought at a minimum they were just fun. Em has always made funny music since day one. So back to your question, some of my favs from this era. Lighters Loud Noises I’m on Everything Welcome to Our House Medicine Man Baby Berzerk Echo Speedom No Favors Best Friend I need a Doctor Richard Here Comes the Weekend Groundhog Day Evil Twin So Far Survival a------ Shady XV the album I LOVE every single track that features Em on that album. Jul 4, 2024 It isn’t that crazy in all honesty. There are some great tracks on those 3 albums that I still listen to today such as: Remember Me White America Rock Bottom Role model As the world turns Till I collapse b---- please 2 Criminal My dads gone crazy The problem is the albums haven’t aged well imo. The shock bars are outdated and honestly kind of gross. Guilty conscience is f----- up. Crazy to think I used to find that song “funny” or “great.” It’s not so much that the music changed, but I have. I have adapted with the times. At the time the production sounded fresh and some tracks still do, but the Dre production is stale. Maybe it’s because it’s 20+ years old and I’m used to modern production. People look at these albums with rose tinted glasses. They have lots of filler like today’s albums and the features are worse back then than they are today. D12 was god awful let’s be honest. Beyoncé, Royce, Black Thought, Pink, Ed Sharon, are all examples of bigger and better artists to collab with. No one wants to hear about f---ing your mom, r---, the word fa----, murder, incest, etc in 2024. We also have songs like Soldier where the wannabe gangster and production is so cringe I can’t even start the song. Em isn’t hard and never has been. He is more in touch with himself these days. Relapse was dope (minus a few tracks) because it was a concept album that he stuck to, and didn’t actually take himself seriously. The production and accents have held up incredibly well. The mixing and mastering on that album is also incredible. Just pure fun nonsense. He could be more introspective from time to time in his early days and that’s why I don’t get why people don’t enjoy Revival. We literally got a first person look into his life, family, and relationships. I hope that helps you understand my mindset a bit better. I am not an idiot, and can see why those first 3 albums are so greatly hailed. They just ain’t for me anymore. In 2008 I thought they were the holy grail, but I believe he has surpassed those albums ten fold. Funny thing is, Em probably agrees.
Jul 4, 2024 INB4 joey’s opinions on this album are so strong that more pages get created here in a single night than the TDOSS thread in nearly 4 years
Jul 4, 2024 Given your views, on Em's albums and what type of songs you prefer from him... Why do you rank Relapse so high? And MMLP so low?
