Jun 14, 2015 chorus is garbage. but the verses are gold. are people ignoring that all three verses carry the same rhyme scheme, rhyming with "sky is falling". this is some commendable writing, by any measure. the cringeworthy lines in the 3rd verse are only there to satisfy the rhyme scheme. The fact that eminem can illustrate an evolving story for three verses using the same rhyme scheme the entire time while maintaining a diversity of vocabulary is also very impressive. this song isn't "top ten" (f--- that argument) but it has its highlights. Don't let personal bias cloud your ability to actually see skill and talent in the craft.

Jun 14, 2015 Top 10 of his career? No f---ing way. It's one of the best songs on MMLP2, though that isn't really saying much. I love the beat, the story telling in the verses, love the raining sound effect in the background (reminds me of Stan), and the chorus is catchy. The song gets alot of unfair hate because of the "pigs flying out of my a---" line, which is arguably the worst line of his career.

Jun 14, 2015 cohesion and content are (usually) opinionated subjects, whereas technical structure, rhyme pattern, etc. are objective observations, giving the observer quantifiable merit by which to judge the skill level of the writing.

Jun 14, 2015 but that's just a biased reductionist review of the material to be fair. the writing has redeeming qualities in it just as much as it has negative qualities. i'm not saying the writing is 10/10 material by any measure; i'm only suggesting some possible merit to be seen in it. In a lot of instances the analytical efforts of users on this forum regarding eminem's music is oversaturated with redundant negative complaints which isn't wrong, i just feel there are also many positive things to be discussed regarding the music as well. The good and the bad should be included when examining his material, not just the bad, otherwise it makes discussions automatically biased which isn't any fun.

Jun 14, 2015 Had the potential to be great but ultimately it fell very flat. A lot of MMLP2 was like that, there were some great ideas for songs (Headlights, Rap God, Bad Guy, Rhyme or Reason, a------, The Monster etc.). Here you have a bunch of tracks with potential, but the execution was incredibly poor and you end up with having some pretty forgettable songs.

Jun 15, 2015 i aint nearly as delusional as csw621 , that n----- is always tripping on some stupid s---. I don't believe that all of eminem's s--- is 10/10. I don't think mmlp2 was a very good album, nor recovery, nor relapse, or encore. I think TES is overrated and I think that MMLP would of been better without Under the Influence. Also the SSLP is also overrated but still quality. Don't lump me in with dumbfuck stans just because I say a few positive things about eminem sometimes.
