Mar 26, 2025 I LOVED So Much Fun. Punk is what I wasn’t big on. It was cool but after I heard it the first or second time I didn’t have much of a desire to listen again like I did with So Much Fun.
Mar 26, 2025 Imo he lost his uniqueness and voice with SMF that made him a legend. Lot of us old fans didn't like it cause we were used to his ability to stay weird and bend his voice. SMF was like an attempt to be like Lil Baby to me...only song I can listen to is Just How It Is
Mar 26, 2025 I’m definitely one of those newer fans, I didn’t really listen to Thug much until So Much Fun came out. You can definitely tell he was trying to be more mainstream with that album and I guess it worked seeing as how it hooked people like me. His older music is fire too though and you make some good points. Hopefully with this album he does go back to being more unique rather than mainstream. I’m sure he has a lot to talk about though with all the s--- that’s been going on in his life these past few years

Mar 27, 2025 Yeah BTG was unfortunately his last album where I felt like he was in peak form. So Much Fun has some great songs on it like Just How It Is, Ecstasy, Sup Mate, Hot, etc and I get that it was a necessary step in his career to really kick him up into the mainstream...but he's lost a lot of that weirdness that made him so good for most of the 2010s. Stuff like Punk just feels so sanitized in comparison. I do think Slime Language 2 is fun tho. That's prob my favorite thing he's done since BTG. Still every Thug project always has some keepers, and I'm just happy he's free and making music again and I'm eager to hear what post-prison Thug sounds like.
