d--- looks like Eminem's the only mainstream rapper who writes all his own s---. How will the anti-Em brigade react?

i feel like we are now confusing ghostwriters with just few lines of a verse that people get writing credit for anyway

That's unfortunate, he's the one that actually needs ghost writers.

Let's make a strong distinction: there's a massive difference between

    1) Taking someone else's work and passing it off as your own (even if that person agrees to it because you've paid him money under the table/are employing him in another capacty/he's just happy to be part of your entourage etc etc)

    2) Getting someone to write for you and including his name in your album credits

The former is snake s--- done by artists who aren't confident in their writing ability...the latter is an honest business transaction.

This exactly. I don't care if Kanye had the whole industry work on MBDTF with him, it's still the best rap album (or at least top 3) of all time imo.

im never for actual ghostwriting i.e. trying to hide someone's contributions to a song. its false advertising really...not fair to the fans of the aritst.

if they're credited, regardless of whether im aware of it or not, then i dont care

the initial shock of learning like "oh man x artist had contributors for y song" fades pretty quickly as making a song is a collaborative effort to begin with. but if it was a big scandal where x artist had numerous songs written by other artists who've never been credited, then yeah id care
