I know it's called Compton but this is still Detox... that's besides the point though. The fact of the matter is that this is an EVENT and it warrants an M Solo thread. From here on out I'll be posting all of my thoughts, observations and reactions in this thread. Now you won't have to sift through s--- posts from little fa---- simps like @Cain to see what I'm thinking.

I'm still debating how/when I will be listening to this. I'll be to busy watching Trump going HAM tomorrow night to catch the stream but there's a small chance I may hold out until Sunday. I know I have otherworldly discipline but that will be TOUGH. However, if I can do that it'll be an incredibly special experience. We'll see.


I've been discussing this album with some of you guys for over a decade and now we're just 24 hours away. It's incredibly surreal and I can't wait to share this experience with all of you.







Oh yeah. I always said I was done posting when/if Detox dropped. This could end up being a really special thread.

Bringing up 50 made me think that Dre gets a LOT of unwarranted hate/blame for the clusterfuck that was Detox. I mean to some extent you have to look at what he was dealing with. His best artist decided to turn into a methadone junkie. His other two young, extremely talented artists decided to let their egos blow EVERYTHING up. I mean, if Eminem never got hooked on the drugs and Game/50 weren't immature as f--- we would have had this album in 05/06 and who knows how good it could have been. Dre was dealt some really s-----y cards.

Is this real life? I'm in total shock that I'll be listening to a NEW Dr. Dre album in less than 24 hours! I grew up to this music.

I was introduced to hip-hop through my cousin always playing Bone Thugz and Tupac. One day, he left his CD book at my house. I took it, hid it, and played the s--- out of it. First thing I stumbled upon was a CD of some white kid rapping about murdering his mother. The MMLP introduced me to Aftermath and Dre through Eminem mentions and 2001.

It truly feels like it's coming full-circle tomorrow. Gonna play it on headphones first (f--- the stream), the whip second, and with my cousin third.

Dre Day is upon us tomorrow

this HAS to be at least great. Dre has to understand that he set the bar pretty high when he said he didn't release Detox because he didn't think it was good enough so now he releases this instead.

anyways a historical event is upon us, this will definitely be Dre's last album.. The man is in his 50s, got pretty much everything and he was probably not even going to release an album, which is understandable due to all the hype that has been going on for the last 15 years. But this is the perfect time for him to release an album. A movie that is based on a major part of his life is dropping and the movie needs a soundtrack and I dont really know how a billionaire thinks but I mean he HAS to feel that he owes the fans something..

So here we have it sxn80 the album that will end the Detox-era.. Definitely not ready for this, lets group around for this

I don't really think this will all be from what time period. I think we'll be getting the best of the best(In Dre's eyes) that he's done since like 2007. I remember the last batch of "Detox" songs that were admittedly given away were some of the tracks on The Big b---, Kingdom Come, Outta Control Remix and Snoop's Imagine.

I didn't believe him at all when he said this is all brand new music and the snippet of Talking To My Diary confirmed that. I think it's a long shot but I'm really, really hoping this is still on it.

I don't believe it for the simple fact that there's no mention of Diary on that tracklist. Dre clearly thinks it's special and it was made around that time so I find it hard to believe it wouldn't be on there. I think that looks like a fan made tracklist tbh....

I'm with you on the cautiously excited for this. I can see this being exactly what I pictured it being but I can also picture being gutted with disappointment. This Justus kid has me unbelievably nervous(among many other things). I have no idea how this will play out but I'm excited nonetheless.
