I remember when I first heard about Compton. At first I thought it was gonna be a soundtrack with NWA's greatest hits and maybe a new Dre song or two. When I found out that it was in fact Detox, but under a different name, I was excited, but not as excited as I should've been. Dre is by far in my top 5 list of rappers, and for the longest time, I considered him to be my favorite rapper (before y'all get on my a---, this was before I really started to branch out and find new hip hop artists that I liked).

Today was the day that it finally hit me. The album that I have been waiting for, ever since I can remember, is finally coming out. After 15 years of hope, doubt, and finally giving up, the holy grail of hyped rap albums will finally be blessed upon us. No more will we hear the word Detox and begin to mentally play Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence". No more will I have to hear @Skippy say "Yeah, that'll happen when Detox drops!"

So on August 7th, call in sick, cancel all plans you have for the day, and gather your friends. The dream that was so close, yet so far away, has finally become reality.
