Aug 23, 2015I remember back in SL people loved this album, some even called it a classic. About a week after it came out and ever since, a vast majority hate it. Some even call it his worst album. I just don't understand. Is it the title that caused you to compare it to the original and be underwhelmed? Is it the subjective replay value? The chicks on the hooks? The bad lines like Eminem atcheaving? I think it's his best post hiatus project. Lyrically, it might be one of his best oat imo.
Of course it has flaws but they don't completely ruin the project for me. I felt like it was a good project that revisited his past whilist evaluating his career and looking forward to the future at the same time.
I just feel like I'm only one of the few in here who thinks so

This was something I had to adjust to when coming to this website. I was just so used to people liking it the most of all post-hiatus albums, and on here a lot of people say it's the worst, and even Encore was better.
To me it is easily better than Recovery, Relapse, and Encore.
You make no sense. You come off as the biggest stan in the world who devotes his music-listening time to almost strictly Eminem and yet you say stuff like this, which basically states that an album with 'a lot of mediocre tracks' is better than two of his first three albums?
How?

Definitely his best album since The Eminem Show and one of the more interesting musically. Anyone critizing the Rick Rubin production is very close-minded, some of the most refreshing stuff he's done in his entire career.
His lyrics are among his best ever and are incredibly in depth, sometimes having three or four different entendres. The album is filled with "easter eggs" towards his older music and is an amazing spiritual successor.
In my opinion, the only flaws are a few tracks, some hooks, and some of the sequencing. But it really was Eminem's return to full form.VMO2, Suburban Scum, Zeugma and 2 others like this. -

You don't even know what fast 'rapping speed' is. Just like most of the other mainstream fans or Eminem-only stans, you think the supersonic speed section of Rap God is some super impressive thing that no one else can do.
It's cool for him, and I'm glad he did that in such a popular song....but this is not something that real hip hop listeners should be so shocked by to the point of were I would say "Oh yeah, Rap God is great because he raps so fast in it!" .boyz n the suburbs, an0nymous, hoesagain and 1 other person like this. -

I see it in the same boat as his other post hiatus albums. Overall it's good, it just doesn't come very close to his prime material. He set the bar so high with the first three that's sort of what people have come to expect from em, and they'll take nothing less. Also on each of the three post come back albums they have all had a few great things about them and a few things that bother the listener, he can't seem to put a project together with good flow, good content, solid theme, good delivery, and good replay value. Seems to me like he chooses 2 or 3 of these things at a timedester23, Groovy Tony and camptech like this.Feb 13, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up)
