he needs to get into an intensive rehabilitation and therapy program. anti-depressants are a must as well. he needs someone else to take control of his life right now, because it's evident he is incapable of doing so himself.
That's a very f----- up view to have and the fact that it's so prevalent is depressing. Humans are built to survive. If someone commits suicide they're going against their strongest natural instinct. Something isn't right there. The psychological pain that must have been felt by anyone who's been driven to k--- themselves must literally be unbearable. Losing a close friend is really really tough, I've been there. But if someone ends their life they aren't doing it to hurt others. They do it because they can't see any way of dealing with an unbearable level of pain, and they can't see a point in the future where they don't feel that pain. That's pretty f---ing dark. Try to understand victims of suicide instead of insulting them.
"Try to". And no, the vast majority of people who are depressed don't k--- themselves, so they can't fully understand suicide victims. To understand them you would have to have killed yourself, or tried killing yourself (a proper attempt, not a "cry for help"). So 99.9% of people (myself included) will never truly understand them or come close - which is also why we shouldn't judge them. We should try to have empathy for people who are literally feeling as bad as you can possibly feel from a psychological standpoint.
So you think we should insult suicide victims because that'll deter other people from killing themselves? I don't think that's how it works buddy.
Getting mental evaluation and some anti-depressants won't do anything? Yeah, you're right. Let him go home and do more heroin so he can work through his problems on his own
