    If you do want to date her, then be prepared to lose that friend permanently. I'm not saying that's how it'll play out, but that's the likely scenario.

    Sounds terrible, but smashing once or twice and then cutting ties is the better alternative.

    I did it, and justified it because he was the one who broke up with her. I don't regret it, but it did kinda f--- up our friendship. Years later, we're good now...in fact, he's about to be an usher in my wedding (I'm marrying a different woman lol).

    I guess what I'm saying is it depends on the situation. Sounds like a much riskier move in your case since he was "devastated", can't imagine he'd take it well

    No. I've done it before to a good friend (literally while they were dating... that scummy) and he caught us and I never would again. It didn't ruin our friendship because I cut her off and it only took him about a week to realize she was a worthless hoe and do the same. We hugged it out and I'll never do anything like that again, one of my biggest regrets.

    People have a tendency to say they are 'okay with it' because it's not cool to still be hung up on your ex, or show you have any sort of feelings for her. People sometimes lie to themselves and others to keep their pride. He said he was devastated, why would you even consider doin' that?

    Just don't go there.
