Sep 18, 2015 Sales mean nothing. Millions of people LOVE the Kardashians. Doesn't make them smart or the TV shows good. If anything this has to do with white priviledge. Em is just more marketable. It's the same reason that Macklemore won his grammy over Kendrick. The Heist (Not a bad album) was in no way better than GKMC, Mack was just more marketable among suburban kids and parents, so he sold better, so he won a Grammy. The Grammys are in no way a measure of good music, they're a popularity contest. Same goes for sales. An artist may sell a lot of records, but using that as your defense of them being a great artist is a poor one. And make no mistake, in this country, white is much more popular than black. Just look at last years Grammys. Was MMLP2 really better than Gambino or Commons album? No. But it was popular. So it won. Why was it popular? Because Em is more marketable. Why is he more marketable? He's white.
