Uhmm, the Beastie Boys / Run DMC got rap into the mainstream through rock music in the 80s. Rick Rubin didn't magically appear in 2012 for Yeezus.

Whatever is considered experimental at any given time usually trickles down into the mainstream as it catches up, so given that I think in the next 5 years hip-hop will be more like the FlyLo, Flatbush Zombies kinda s---.

Didn't Yeezus help bring Trap/Drill to the foreground?

    No lol

FlyLo isn't some new breakthrough artist. Flatbush Zombies barely exist.

Why is it cool to hate Travis Scott?

I think rap will grow bigger and not having one major trend anymore, it's actually already happening.
There is that "cloud" rap, drill, trap, "mumbled trap" , conscious rap, pop rap...

And there is no style that is REALLY more popular than the other.

You couldn't say 2015 rap is young thug and future, asap rocky and chance, J cole and Kendrick Lamar, macklemore and iggy, slim Jesus and chief keef, Kanye and Travis or fetty whap and Rae sremmurd.

Rap is too big now to have only one trend.

Chief Keef - one of the only important Drill/Trap artists - was already a star before Yeezus dropped

h--- no. Yeezus doesn't even sound like drill. Trap has been around since early 2000. I swear people give Kanye way too much credit.

Don't you mean Travis Scott helped craft yeezus? Lmao. He co produced most of it and introduced that overall sound to Kanye.
