My honest opinion of Eminem:

I like a lot of his music. Even recovery. Even relapse. And of course most of it before. But this decade, he has been a complete pile of poop outside of some songs on MMLP2. Shady XV and everything since has been some of his worst rapping ever. His Medicine Man verse has given me hope, but songs like KND and Phenomenal from the movie soundtrack still worry me that he's using that awful, choppy flow.

and what do you mean new plateaus??? people have rapped to the beat for a long time. even Eminem has done it before phenomenal.

i came here to give my honest opinion of Em... i know how much you love him, which is fine, but i'm not gonna spend my time defending my opinion in this case.

lol i understand what u mean... but saying n---- fifty times (@Koolo thats ur cue to ban me since I'm the only one that gets banned for saying it) isn't always the best thing for a song.

and what do you mean, "what do you mean new plateaus????," people have never rapped to a beat the way Eminem does it alongside perfect rhyming, metaphor and storytelling in phenomenal.

"one day it'll make you grow" has one maybe two meanings

"I write with the left" has a dozen+ meanings

this effects replay value tremendously even if the average listener doesn't realize it

In his prime he was brilliant, but he's an embarrassment now. He is painfully artistically insecure; his career post-hiatus feels like a constant identity crisis (I should be a wacky foreign serial killer! Nah, how about becoming a pop star for Recovery and embracing a sound I once mocked? How about revisiting who I was 13 years ago?). His delivery is shrill and hard on the ears, even when his technical rhyming is impressive. His lyrical content is non-existent at worst and generic at best. And perhaps worst of all, any wit he once had has been replaced by jokes about hoes, his d-ck, and fast food. He's now an artist who made good music for 4 years, and bad music for 11 - and that's if he quits right now. Not a good ratio to have.

i agree that if you realize all of the meanings behind a bar, it makes it a lot more enjoyable, but that's not what i'm talking about. kendrick has plenty of other songs with bars with different meanings.
