Can we talk about what makes an album a "flop"? Most people incorrectly assume that there are identical thresholds that every album needs to hit. This brushes over marketing budgets, how the recorded is being distributed, actual sales vs projected sales, how the singles performed, how the artist in question usually performs, etc.

    In example:
If Drake sells 100k in a week, it's a flop.
If Quentin Miller sells 100k in a week, he's a burgeoning superstar.

A popular example people like to point to is Kreayshawn selling 6k in her first week, ignoring the fact the only place pushing physical copies was Hot Topic.

What do you think about all of this? Do any records deserve a little vindication? Is it right to make flop threads off the bat regardless of circumstance?
