In between my time making really dark s--- like this or this for my actual releases I sit around and try to make more upbeat s---, and it just comes out really cheesy and I don't end up doing anything with it anymore like I use to:

For whatever reason s--- like this just doesn't vibe with me enough to actually pursue it. Who knows though, maybe I'll end up using it for something eventually...

Sounds like something you would've done for your Just Breathe EP that got scrapped.

Sort of, but even that was sort of more somber and moody. the straight up happy sounding s--- like this is just.. I don't know. I can't bring myself to ever work it out into a full song or spend more than a few hours on it before I scrap it.

I've probably got about 40 unfinished songs like this I just started and said "meh" to and moved on from

I wouldn't define this as 'happy'. Sounds more hopeful/dramatic than happy to my ears imo.

it's too close to it at least for me, and it's a huge departure from s--- like this

so i just sort of write it off as 'happy'

it's been happening to me quite frequently over the past half a year or so since the album and EP changes.

feel like i'm gonna have to step away from music for awhile after it, or re-invent my style for a bit so I can come back to my current sound (not like this track, but like the the album). i've been hitting a wall creatively for awhile, and I think it's just that I'm insanely burnt out right now. I've burned through so many different melodies, both complex and simple, and all sorts of different genres and structures and styles over the past 2 and a half years at a ridiculous rate that I'm not sure what to do anymore. and until I find another concept/theme for my music it's just all stale to me

Yeah I feel like I'm slowly getting to that point. These last two beats I just uploaded tonight were (somewhat) a chore to produce lol. I feel like I'm getting too one dimensional. I need to dive into other genres soon.

Either that or I gotta use different production techniques and make my sequencing and structuring more diverse

^Switching s--- up is always good. Expands your capabilities as a producer and gives you a different perspective on things. I would definitely branch out into other genres and ways of producing.

Anyways, I feel like I may have ideas of where to go from for my next project. I'm just really iffy on it for a number of reasons.

Ive had an idea for a real sequel to Coldest Winter floating around in my head for a minute, either as just a song, maybe an EP, etc. I just don't want to retread ground, and depending on the direction, I'm afraid of what may come of it.

I reaaaally want to sing somehow, and write a song around it and move towards more realized songs through not just the production but lyrics as well, and without having just features to do it for me.

"Tundra" might be the next thing, but I don't have any idea of when it might come about or what it'll be like, honestly

Autotune time. Channel your inner Kanye.

That or try and persist at improving your singing?

My biggest hurdle I feel like is that I just honestly hate the sound of my voice way too much. It's why I unintentionally drowned it out on Inner Demons first few mixes, and that wasn't even rapping or singing or anything.

I mean, most people hate the sound of their own voice. Yours sounds fine to me tbqh.

And let the listener be the judge of your voice and not yourself.

Problem would be, am I ultimately going to end up releasing a song with horrid s-----y singing on it that no one likes because I didn't know if it was just my hatred for my voice, or was it just legitimately bad singing? It's such a risk for me and I don't want to put something like that out without knowing... and yet I'm dying to

    Just try it. :dno:

I mean you could send out drafts of your singing over your own track to people you trust and if your hold their opinions highly and then get feedback. You could also look up tips and s--- online to improve your vocals.

It might sound daunting for you but it's worth pursuing. Nothing to lose here mate.

It may also give ignite your creative flair if you work yourself up to the point where you're confident enough to produce around your singing or something.

I dunno I'm just shooting off ideas as to what your singing could do for your passion. A lot of doors will be opened creatively.

Even if it's a fantastic failure at least you gain experience from it.
