    lollllllll

for all perry's defining characteristics--his undying love for the music of saigon, his hatred for anything resembling social progress, the fact that he's in his mid-20s and still worships eminem--the most pronounced is that he's just not very smart.

i think the line you quoted would be, if carried out to its natural end, questionable politics. (social responsibility is not even one of the ten most apparent things about Shadow of a Doubt, so you're making a dishonest comparison--you either know that and are being a troll, or don't and are even dumber than i thought.)

do you really not see the difference between gibbs, who raps as a villain about killing people and selling crack to his relatives, and kendrick, who's trying to be the prescriptive voice of a generation? do you really think i like and dislike rap artists based on their politics? it beared mention w/r/t To p---- a Butterfly because the album stakes itself largely on its politics. you're quoting a throwaway line from a gangsta rap record.

ice cube was wildly antisemitic. nas mocked evolution on God's Son. dmx would jump off a bridge if he shook hands with a gay person. none of those people are anything short of all-time legends. stop reaching.
