Nov 18, 2015 Well I always understood it as - there's been a s--- heap of war crimes committed over in the middle east by western countries and numerous civilians killed etc etc. Which is probably what pushed the whole ISIS movement, or at least added fuel to their fire. They say "western civilization is the devil!" then they see western civilization bomb them, of course people will join them/believe that it's the devil at work. I live in Australia and I hear conspiracy theories from white people saying that america is corrupt and illuminati and whatever else. Imagine what people in a war-torn country are saying about the US, especially when the US is bombing/invading/attacking them - for reasons they don't understand.
