We all do agree that Eminem has changed so much.
but the question, was this change good or bad ? necessary or unfortunate ?
What if Eminem continued producing tracks like : The Way I am, Cleaning out my closet, k--- you, or Sing for the moment till 2015 ? thats 15 years of the same style.
All of these tracks are classics, no doubt. And I think Eminem gave us enough amount of it.
But so was Snoop Dogg style in 1994, and so was 50 cent style in 2003. and both didn't change so much, but look at them now.
My opinion is, if you don't evolve, improve you music/style, and stay at the top of your game while keeping you identity and legacy, then it is a career suicide.
Yes, old Eminem is sick, and very enjoyable to listen to, because he had a new violent style with big shock value and smooth flow. but wouldn't it be boring after sometime ?
Do you honestly expect more shocking from Eminem ?? He didn't leave us something to be shocked of...
He was the first rapper to diss every pop celebrity which was funny, he rapped about killing his ex-wife and his daughter's mother, he has rapped about burying his own mother, he has showed us his a--- multiple times, he was high all the time, he has threatened a celebrity with her husband (Mariah Carey), he has dissed people while receiving awards and grammies.
Do you really think there is more stuff to be shocked about ? no way.
Eminem was GOAT from Relapse to Southpaw.. If you think otherwise, there is a big chance you're reminiscing about old days and how you first discovered Eminem.
My advice is, listen to Eminem new stuff for what it is, Don't listen to relapse while expecting Eminem to give you a love song, don't listen to recovery expecting Eminem to give you a gangster track, don't listen to MMLP2 expecting Eminem to give you a diss on his mother or ex-wife.
Please listen to this video, it is best 10 tracks of MMLP2, wasn't it Masterpiece ?
..
Understand Eminem lyrics he's so genius.
I'll list you some evidence of his greatness:
1) "Change that tune, you ain't got a remote chance to control me" - Evil Twin :
This sentence has 2 meanings:
1- first meaning is obvious, change the tune using the remote control
2- According to dictionary: (slight or faint (esp in the phrases not the remotest idea, a remote chance)
2) "But look up rhyme in the dictio-nary, I'm in the picture" - Baby
This sentence has 3 meaning:
1- as it seems, Eminem says look up rhyme in the dictionary.
2- it has homophone with Rhyming addiction,, so he is addicted to rhyming.
3- also homophone with Rhyming addiction, but Em is saying he is rhyming the word addiction, cause the rhyme was ending with "iction". (What a Genius !)
and there so many other examples,,
I don't see multiple meanings in old Eminem songs, I don't see diversity on styles, I don't see him loving his mother. but all of these are happening now.
Eminem today = Eminem back in the day ,, but in different ways.Base Reality, RockstarX3000 and Willou like this.Feb 27, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up)
