Jan 9, 2016 it has nothing to do with jazz, its all about Eminem not being a good artist. I'm judging him on how he uses his pen and his beats, and It's not a secret for anyone that eminem (these last 10 years) has been rapping over some of the worst beats in hip hop history. He still has a good pen but he clearly doesn't know what production works & doesn't work for his songs. Eminem is like these average (the typical beat maker) producers who simply won't know anything about polyrhythms, bebop scales or altered scales, syncopation and shifting keys. A good artist should understand all these elements when making music, a good producer understands how all these work when crafting a beat, it's not the case for Eminem. He's an amazing battle rapper but dude is just lost when it comes to making "music"
