Jan 12, 2016 genuinely curious. it's already so difficult to critique or compare his projects because of his progression. no one project sounds like the other. each one improves drastically on one or more elements of his rapping in some way. people thought ss2 was the best project of the three when it dropped. now its ranked last. tha tour is the best out of all his projects to date, but we all know that isn't his prime as far as rapping goes. so what? how the f--- are we gonna be able to tell? or will he just have an expansive career encompassesing a vast variety of styles that result in numerous quality projects and no real drop off? idk @ThuggerSXN
Jan 12, 2016 No, real geniuses don't have time to improve cause they always change once they become good at something.
Jan 12, 2016 So far he is at his peak, he is putting out great projects more consistently than he ever has before. Depends on where he goes from here
Jan 12, 2016 Yes but... Hmm. No. I'm not sure. Like, if we take Kanye for example, he made 808s and it was nearly perfect for what it is, then he changed to mbdtf, who was also nearly perfect for what it was, then he made yeezus that was again radically different and nearly perfect. If he made 808s, then 808s 2, then 808s 3, his 808s 3 would probably be even more accomplished for a rap-auto tune songs about heartbreak with a big bass album, but we wouldn't consider kanye as great as we do now. Cause it's not perfection that makes a great artist very great, it's innovation. In my opinion. Still not sure if this makes sense.
Jan 12, 2016 So if young thug changes his style and music again and again instead of doing the same, and keeps doing it right, he'll always be in his prime. I think.
Jan 12, 2016 i see what you are saying but..... When we judge if an artist is in their prime, we judge how great there music has been in a timeline It is IMPOSSIBLE to tell what Kanye's prime is because of how different his albums are and how he constantly switches.
Jan 12, 2016 That's precisely what I mean, very great artists constantly switch and make different albums, so you can't say when or if they really have a prime at all.
