He went back to the gangsta style in 09 after the Curtis backlash. Unfortunately BISD leaked a month early and even though it went gold the sales weren't too great. After that 50 kinda took a break from music to focus on his business ventures. Hasn't really been able to step back in since.BIGFOOT, Ordinary Joel, Mike Tyson and 2 others like this. -

Ya'll are killing me with with some of these statements. Fif was nearly left for dead after Columbia dropped him, the Dre & Em co-sign helped a lot but I specifically remember when Wanksta dropped that s--- was getting played damm near everywhere you looked. He was gonna be a star one way or another, I think he simply got bored of rapping and lost his hunger right after Curtis.Flacko, Mike Tyson, asvdawg and 1 other person like this. -

In all seriousness, he created a bubble of music that was poppin, gangster rap with great hooks, but the people shifted focus from that bubble to other s---. The Game really tried his best to k--- his career and did some damage, and his inability to take down a guy the public don't even like, Rick Ross, has made his L status stagnate.SWZA, Ordinary Joel, Griff and 1 other person like this. -

none of this 'killed' 50s career
the genre simply wasn't popular anymore, it's as simple as that. only way he could've stayed in the limelight was either changing by trendsetting with a new style, or hopping on whatever trend knocked his off its pedestal in the first place. he chose neither option -

The game really didnt hurt G-Unit at all. All his diss tracks were basically the same. G-Unit died because if over saturation.
The Ja comparison is way off.
50 had no initial responses because he was still eating off Game at the time.Runzhouse, BIGFOOT and Mike Tyson like this. -
