During an interview with Complex, Patterson and Johnson were asked about the impact of Drake on the popularity of the Raptors in Canada and in the UK. The two athletes said that Drake has only helped the team’s image.

    Patterson told Complex:

Johnson added that Drake is having the same effect for the Raptors like Jay Z had for the Nets. But when the two were asked about what music is played in the locker room, that’s when things got interesting.

After a highly publicized feud between Meek Mill and Drake led to tweets being fired back and forth and several “diss” songs, including Drake’s heralded “Back to Back” and “Charged Up,” it was clear to see there was no love between the two rappers.

As a result, Patterson and Johnson said that Raptors players declared their allegiance to Drake, saying that Meek Mill’s music is effectively banned from the dressing room.

“Oh yeah, Meek Mill has been banned for a long time,” Patterson said. “No one plays Meek Mill.”

Sorry, Meek Mill, looks like you took another loss courtesy of the Toronto Raptors and the “Hotline Bling” singer.
