I mean he is still killing s--- but it seems his project quality has been dropping since Monster. Beast Mode was a step behind Monster, 56 Nights was a step behind Beast Mode, DS2 was a step behind that, the only exception seems to be Purple Reign for me, as it was better than DS2 for sure.

I've posted this in other threads but I think it's all coming down to Ape Sh!t. Honest, Monster, Beast Mode & 56 Nights all had unique sound directions and different concepts, while DS2 just sounds like a mix of the throwaways from the previous tapes. Purple Reign is a step in the right direction as it experiments with new stuff, but also a step backwards with blatant regurgitation like the title track aka Codeine Crazy pt. 2.

I'm not going to expect Beast Mode 2 or Monster 2 to be innovative, so it really falls down to Mike Will who has been experimenting with some new drums that I'm really excited to hear.
