Look, I'm less scared of a Trump presidency than I would be of a Cruz presidency. (You could swap out Cruz for Paul, or Fiorina, or Ryan, or a whole bunch of conservative fundamentalists.) But people who "support" Donald Trump are categorically stupid. It's not just that Trump's an unhinged xenophobe--it's that the unhinged xenophobia is all he has. There are no policy proposals, no concrete platform.

What I said wasn't even remotely a "lie". Go find the transcript. You can make the point that he meant illegal immigrants rather than legal immigrants - doesn't make what I said any less true. He still said it! You're making a distinction without a significant difference.

If everything you said here is true (dubious), it still doesn't excuse or contradict what I said. Patriotic Muslim Americans should not feel alienated and lumped in with terrorists just because Donald Trump is a bigot without any sense of nuance. It's an irresponsible and disgusting thing to say if you're trying to lead our nation.

You're right, I have no problem watching the GOP implode. Trump is a monster of their own creation. Again, that doesn't make what I said any less true. Trump's ratings with Hispanics are something like 11 or 12%. If that holds, the party is going to be absolutely crushed in November.
