    T&Y was definitely a much better effort than everything he had released since The Cool, but still does not go toe-to-toe with Food & Liquor

    This is exactly how I feel.

    It really adds some solidity to my opinion that "Lasers" was Lupe's creation - and not something that was forced upon him by Atlantic. That seems like a huge publicity stunt at the time.

    Lupe shows glimpses of him being an absolutely incredible rapper throughout the album, but it's few and far between, and the production really doesn't seem to suit his style.

    Tetsuo & Youth is a great album. Sadly it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

    I thought this one was pretty good after one listen, but that intro is great!

    I'm still on the fence about modern Lupe I genuinely think his bangers that alienated the core fanbase (Pu$$y, Next To It, Deliver) are dope and he still has sparks of his old self (Mural, Prisoners) but he hasn't made a front-to-back good album since before the label started working him over.
