    last night I went to see Lauryn Hill and Gary Clark Jr.......LIT LIT LIT!!!!!!

    this was my first time witnessing the greatness that is Lauryn Hill her voice was on point!...also it was my first time hearing Gary live. ive only heard a couple of his songs on youtube but JESUS hes so f---ing good!!
    this is his newest album if youre interested.

    I'm missing like 3 more songs that I'm sure if I hear again ill remember it

    @shahidah glad you had a good time. dunno if you remember, but we briefly discussed this a couple months ago.

    i'm seeing her next tuesday at the national in richmond, virginia.

    no :emoji_crying_cat_face: unfortunately she didn't perform that song. But I'm not sure if the list changes for each city....i hope you enjoy the concert as much as i did!

    I'm gunna check out Sonny Boy Slim later this evening ...im so excited....are the songs more blues beats or jazzy?

    awwe she will regret not going...perfect atmosphere for a date :emoji_wink:...I almost went by myself but then last min my sister went with me and I was glad she did cause it seemed more enjoyable sharing the experience with someone you know.

    It's a lot more Blues rock than jazz imo.

    I even went back and listened to his first two albums. 110 and Worry No More contains all Blues and it's awesome!

    He has some jazz songs but I like his blues songs.

    His voice is beautiful [live]. He doesn't hold back at all with his singing

    yeah, i can have a great time by myself----but i totally agree with you that its always better when you have someone along with you.

    @shahidah was lauryn hill late when you saw her perform? she sorta has a reputation for being late for her concerts. a bunch of ppl on her facebook page have mentioned how she's often late for her concerts. about a day ago, she released this long statement on facebook explaining that her lateness isn't because she doesn't care and she deeply cares about and appreciates her fans.

    @Ordinary Joel made me a Gary Clark Jr. Stan, the music is so soulful :lawd:

    Ms. Hill has a lot of problems and even after all these years has never been able to look past the damage the industry has done to her. A sad story indeed...

    I think her performance was delayed a bit longer than expected.....after Gary was on stage there was about an hour and 10 min break till she came on the stage. I think she might've been late...and yeah I did see an article about her being late to her ATL performance this past week, also friends have said that she didn't show to a couple performances.

    @shahidah i saw her last night. the show was supposed to start at 8 30, but she didn't start until about 9:40 or so. the DJ played a bunch of classic hip hop songs while everyone waited, so that kept ppl entertained and most ppl didn't seem to get restless.

    she cut her hair, wore a pretty dress and performed for 2 hours and played lots of the hits from mis-education and the score: ready or not, fugeela, killing me softly, ex factor, superstar, everything is everything, and she ended the show with doo wop.------she even sang sweetest taboo by sade----not sure why lol----but it can't be that unusual because when i saw paul mccartney he played one of jimi hendrix's songs.

    i had a great time. didn't get to go with the girl i have a crush on---but i didn't get a chance (waited too long) to ask her either. the good news is another girl at my job who's friends with the girl i like is gonna find out if she's involved with anyone----so there' still a shot for me! :)
